The House That Was Not There

A meditation on diasporic longing rendered through fragmented Super 8 footage of three coastlines — Tangier, Marseille, and a stretch of the Black Sea that the filmmaker has never been to but dreams of often. The voiceover, alternating between French and Arabic, refuses translation.

Talbi calls it "a love letter to coastlines I will outlive."
